Out with the old and in with the new
I have been waiting for this day almost since we moved into this house almost 7 years ago. I have always disliked the downstairs bathroom. The tile, the duck wallpaper, and the very cheap looking laminate counter top, but hey it is a basement bathroom that only Brenton and Connor use. That is why it took so long to remodel. I am now in love with the new bathroom. My only regret is not having taken pictures of the old bathroom. I was just so happy to have it gone that pictures to remind me of what it used to look like didn't really make the list of things to do. Jon did all of the work except for the peeling of the wallpaper he was so nice to let me have that job. A job that lasted almost 3 months I might add. Thanks to my sister Christa's steamer it made the job faster and more enjoyable if you can call peeling wallpaper enjoyable. Jon just wanted to paint over the wallpaper that is why I got the job of peeling it off. The only thing we didn't replace is the bathtub it is white and in good shape. The only thing I want to do that hasn't been done yet is replace the bathtub/shower faucet. Jon doesn't want to mess with it because when he did our upstairs bathroom and my parents master bathroom that is what gave him the biggest headache. He hates plumbing. We tried a new type of textured wall paint. It is called venetian plaster. I first saw it at a member of our church she had her dinning room painted with it and fell in love with it. Here are the pictures of the new and improved bathroom.
